Valuing Faith, Family & Freedom in Central Virginia

A few weeks ago I wrote an article on the issue of Abortion vs. Sanctity of Life and I laid out where each candidate (both Republican and Democratic) stood on it. Personally, I feel so strongly about this issue that this is a “make or break deal” for me in determining who is the best [...]

I’ve noticed a change in flavor over the past three months on this blog. Originally my intent was to write about “all that matters to me” and I introduced six categories: faith/religion, family, friends, home, politics & work. I thought I’d be addressing mostly family-related issues with a bit of work mingled in, since I’m [...]

I finally did it… I moved my 2-1/2 year old out of our bedroom and into his recently-turned-4 year old sister’s room. It’s only temporary though. When we finish remodeling a bedroom for our 12 year old, and he moves out of his current room, then the two younger ones can have their own rooms. [...]

I came across this “Merry Christmas” ad from John McCain…yes, this is another political ad, but it doesn’t discuss politics (neither did Mike’s). It’s a simple video clip that references a cross in the sand (not a “subliminal” one) and offers what I believe to be sincere greetings. Although he doesn’t mention Jesus Christ in [...]

I’m formally posting my endorsement for Mike Huckabee to be the Republican candidate for the 2008 Presidential Election (and then of course, to be the next president). I know I discussed a short time ago that I wanted to discuss politics and religion more on this blog, but I don’t want you to think that [...]

FIRST IMPRESSIONS are LASTING IMPRESSIONS At Old Farm Day this year, I visited the Fluvanna Republican Committee table and my children were approached by a woman and asked if they wanted stickers. Naturally being 2 & 3 years old, they said, “yes†and she proceeded to put stickers endorsing JP without consulting me first. I [...]

My husband and I just got back a few hours ago from finishing up our Christmas shopping…without the kids (at least the oldest three anyway)…thanks Mom. In reviewing the latest news at Mike Huckabee’s website (someone I’ve been paying a lot of attention to lately), I came across the following ad. How refreshing. Enjoy… Merry [...]

The subject of abortion is a pretty controversial subject, and I guess I can understand why. People feel very passionately one way or the other and have difficulty understanding the opposing view has merit. When asked my position on the subject of procreation I happen to subscribe to both terms…pro-life AND pro-choice.

There are two things I’ve heard you should never discuss in public: Religion and Politics. But rather we should stick to subjects like the Weather instead. But why is that? Why are these two subjects so taboo? They are “off limits” because they are too controversial & polarizing, I suppose. Most people just want to [...]

I started a project many months ago featuring a product on one of our wallpaper websites, WallpaperIllusions.com. It was truly a labor of love, and I’m so thrilled to have finally finished it. (No, that’s not my bathroom on the left, but I do sell what’s on those walls.) I guess what gave me the [...]
