Petition for Referendum on Fluvanna High School Domino Plan

Douglas Johnson, a Fluvanna County resident, has just announced a petition for referendum concerning the new Fluvanna County High School (the Domino Plan) in Central Virginia has begun circulation.

Most of the attendees of the public hearing want this $100,000,000 school construction project to go to referendum before proceeding. Only the School Board can authorize a referendum and it has refused to do so. This petition will force the board to act.

I encourage you to read the press release, print out a blank petition form, sign it and fill the page with signatures (15 to a page). Suggestions on how to use the petition are given at the bottom of the press release. Thank you for your help.

Please note: This is not a request to block the Domino Plan, but rather a request to have the School Board allow all public citizens of Fluvanna County (registered voters) to vote on the Domino Plan as opposed to leaving the decision up to six Board of Supervisors alone.

This is a time sensitive matter. The Board of Supervisors are scheduled to meet and vote on this plan on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 7PM and the call for Referendum must happen before this time. Act now.
