Tyranny in America Today
I am outraged over the California Supreme Court recent decisions to not only override the will of the people concerning the traditional meaning of marriage, but also despite the fact that an amendment to the state’s constitution will be on the November ballot to be voted upon by the whole state, they refuse to stay (hold) the ruling until this vote!
If this doesn’t enrage you, it should!
Never mind the fact that a few judges are trying to ram homosexual “marriages” down the throats of God-fearing Americans, but they are abusing their power as justices by doing whatever they want.
- They are taking an institution that has been understood for several thousands of years to be between opposite-sex individuals and redefining the institution, making it into law, despite the fact the vast majority of the people in it’s jurisdiction has already emphatically stated the traditional definition should remain.
- Knowing that this ruling stands a really good chance of being overturned in November when the people of California hit the polls and vote on amending its state’s constitution indicating the same thing they already voted on less than a decade ago, these judges refuse to stay the ruling.
Why is this so outrageous?
A decision was made against the will of the people in May. The people petitioned to vote on amending their constitution, and they won…the vote will be on November’s general election ballot. BUT, the decision is going into effect next week in June, and the people of California can do nothing about it. So for four and a half months the people in California will have to live under tyranny…in AMERICA!
Wake up, folks…this is SO wrong.
If these judges can wield their power in this fashion, what is preventing other state leaders or even federal leaders in our government from doing much worse to you and I?
Maybe you’re not one to get into political affairs, but I’m telling you point blank, if you don’t rise up and get involved right now, then the freedoms we have are going to be snatched away from us before you can say “boo”.
This is not a movie, guys…this is not some two-dimensional, fictitious Hollywood picture that’s being filmed…this is what real men gave their very lives for. Real people died so that we can live in a free society. Not just actors on a silver screen portraying a distant tale, but scores of ordinary people with an extraordinary passion to fight for religious freedom and liberty from tyrannical governments sacrificed not only their own lives but the lives of their wives and children so that we can have this very precious right to self-govern.
And here we now have a handful of justices dictating to not only Californians, but to the rest of the country how we should operate as a society. Do not take this lying down, people!
Contact your key leaders and demand they put pressure on these justices to stay this ruling until the people have a chance to vote on it.
We must not allow this kind of dictatorship, this form of tyranny to take place unchecked in our country! Contact the following California leaders: Governor Schwarzenegger, Senator Boxer, Senator Feinstein as well as your own state’s U.S. Senators and tell them this ruling must be halted until the people of California are given their opportunity to be heard.

The only tyrants are you…and people who think like you. No..I am not gay….but believe that those who are should have the same rights and privileges as the rest of us. Who on earth do you think you are. The will of the people indeed!!!!

Hi Casey,
Thank you for stopping by.
This hullabaloo is not about gay rights…it is not a civil rights issue in the sense that homosexuals are being discriminated against.
This is an issue concerning a re-defining of a word/institution that has meant one thing for thousands of years by a government against the will of its people.
Then, when the people rise up and petition it’s government to bring the matter to a vote, and the government agrees to hear the vote, the government then, instead of doing the “right” thing and waiting to see if the vote will go through overturning this ruling (since the people had already indicated their wishes with the proposition passed several years ago) or if the will of the people says, “fine, go ahead with your ruling”, they stubbornly said “No, we’re going to do whatever the heck we want”.
This is what I’m referring to as “tyranny”.
Why do you consider me a tyrant? I’m looking out for the good of all Americans. Our government should not have that much power. That’s all I’m saying.

I don’t think the “you” is personal, Carrie. Given the poster’s vitrolic tone, it appears to be toward a specific collective group. The rage in the response reminds me of a tempestuous three year old whose parents used the word “NO”.
Casey, might I suggest an intelligent civil counter-argument next time instead of the mud-slinging knee-jerk response of a high school student?
Carrie appropriately addressed the issue. Though the issue of homosexual marriage is currently on the table, the crux of this argument is how the California Supreme Court Justices ignored the will of the MAJORITY. Now, let’s review the three branches of government: judicial, legilsative, and executive. Constitutionally, does the Supreme Court have the authority to make laws? Nope. It is there to interpret laws and make sure they are within the framework of the Constitution. What the Justices did was basically take the Constitution and throw it out the window-ignoring the MAJORITY and the rights of its citizens. This ruling clearly demonstrates Marxist priciples. This should frighten you as an American. Do you really want the government making laws to micro-manage your way of life because they assume to know best without your input?
As far as those who want the same rights as the rest of us? Well, these people chose to live an “alternative lifestyle”. Looking at the bigger picture, this is not about a battle for “equality”. No matter how homosexuals try, their definition of marriage will never have the same equallity emotionally or socially as a traditional heterosexual marriage. This is outright rebellion in regards to the traditional familly that has existed as a cornerstone in society for over 6,ooo years. So what if a man wants to marry his dog? Are you going to say he deserves equal rights as well? What about people who are polyamorous or polygamists? Incest? Bigamy? Pedophilia? Don’t think it will happen? Think again! My point is, something has to set the standard to keep society from collapsing into Hell. Right now, that standard is traditional marriage. Do the research. It has been proven OVERALL that children thrive better in a household with a FATHER and a MOTHER. Think about it, Casey. Lies are easy to believe when it paves the way for what we want. However, what we want isn’t always moral or what we need to live fulfilling lives. Hope to hear more from you soon. Regards…..

How will you feel when the majority says that any person can marry any person?
I believe the real issue is that we as a society take what a judge says, when ruling on a specific case with all of it’s special circumstances and in that special context rule what they think is right, we say okay now we can… as if the judge just created a law. They didn’t. They made a decision based on their interpretation of the law. If their interpretation is wrong we do have a problem. It began with the education of the judge.
But I am not convinced that every ruling a judge makes, that results with this kind of wave among the emotions of the people, is an incorrect interpretation.
God instituted marriage. One man leaves his mom and dad and becomes one with his wife. He loves her like Christ loves his church. She trusts him like the church trusts the Christ. That’s traditional marriage. When did it become okay that any “Bob” or “John” could marry any “Mary” or “Helen” no matter if they are not virgins and they have no intention of making a vow before God? They are their own God, seeking the title and respect generations before seem to have attained without any real idea of why the word “marriage” has such power.
Our country has been going away from “judeo-christian” since day one. What we have relied on up to this point is the strong, discerning, God-fearing men we have elected into power. So that they will REPRESENT the people, even when the majority are morally wrong, uninformed, and not taking in the “big picture”, not BEND to the will of the majority.

You make a great point, Faith concerning the “majority” of the people. Our government while often thought of as a democracy is set up to be a republic. The individuals we elect into power are intended to represent us not bend to the will of the majority.
I can’t help but think of a family unit…take mine for example. There’s my husband and I and our four children. If we as parents were to bend to the will of the majority of our family members, we would do a LOUSY job of caring for us as a whole.
While we are interested in what our children have to say and how they feel, we are in the position of doing what we believe is best for them, not what they believe is best. We are accountable to God and we base our decisions on what God teaches us.
Our leaders need to do the same. They are accountable to God and should base their decisions on what God teaches. The real problem is that while so many people cry “separation of church and state”, we cannot and should not remove God from American politics.
This country was founded on a relationship with God.
Perhaps the real reason for my being so upset about this ruling is that these judges have not only defied God’s institution and created a law that is NOT in the best interest of our country, but our elected officials who are supposed to represent us have allowed this ruling to stand.

Mychal Massie made an interesting point regarding our republic:
“In a democracy, the majority rules – be they right or wrong. In an autocracy, all power lies with one. In a constitutional republic, as is America, the basic principles of truth and right, deemed to both originate and emanate from God, are the guiding forces of our system of law, our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution.”
I think that statement is important to use for clarification because I can easily see the other side using this argument to justify the current decision of the California Supreme Court Justices without taking into account that the people, using their Constitutional right, voted a few years back not to make same-sex marriage legal.
